February is American Heart Month. To celebrate, volunteers from around the country are joining the American Heart Association, in connection with The Children's Heart Foundation, to knit & crochet red hats for babies born in February.
The Little Hats, Big HeartsTM campaign is centered around raising awareness of heart disease, the nation's #1 cause of death, and congenital heart defects, the nation's #1 birth defect. Working with local hospitals, hats are distributed to new moms and babies all month long. We aim to inspire moms to live heart healthy lives and to help their family do the same, through education and resources.
Here in the North Bay, we would like to thank our 2016 donors of hats and yarn. With their generous support we were able to distribute hats to babies at Kaiser Permanente's Santa Rosa Campus and St. Joseph Health Memorial Hospital. We are looking forward to expanding the program significantly in the coming year and are so grateful for the outpouring of support we've received.

We suggest simple patterns. While we love buttons and bows, they may become detached and pose a risk to little ones.
